Your team

Within the Network Management Directorate, the "Development & Delivery" service ensures the execution of all IT projects (application & infrastructure projects). The service addresses areas such as programme/project management, software development and maintenance, and release management at corporate level.

The traineeships, located in the Data Services team, are a key part of the Data Governance programme. They aim to immerse the trainees in essential team activities, enhancing the rollout of data governance across business areas. The trainees will directly interact with business product owners and aviation experts, fostering skills in data analysis and integration within the Data Governance Programme.

MAIN LEARNING OBJECTIVES & TASKS

As a trainee, you will learn to understand and master the core concepts of Data Governance, working with the team lead on the central Data Governance Framework tool Collibra.

We are seeking candidates for two distinct roles: one with a focus on functional aspects and the other emphasising technical expertise.

Concretely, these are the tasks and responsibilities you will undertake in the functional role:

  • Assist in populating the framework with selected business area Data Asset-related data, utilising existing processes and workflows.
  • Contribute to the analysis of business and user requirements, developing new standards and procedures to effectively capture information essential for business functions.
  • Participate in Business Analysis within selected business areas to thoroughly understand and document the End-to-End Data to product process.
  • Help translate business requirements into developer-friendly language, bridging the gap between business needs and technical implementation, including support in designing and implementing new workflows.

In the technical role, your tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in building the appropriate technical processes using Python scripting, with Groovy knowledge also beneficial.
  • Contribute to the synchronization of various technical solutions using REST APIs (Python Scripting).
  • Support continuous customer engagement by delivering thorough Collibra/Data Governance training, offering user guidance, and fine-tuning services to meet changing needs.
  • Improve visibility by developing Power BI reports that highlight current user engagement statistics and asset metrics, offering a clear and visually engaging summary.

DESIRED DURATION

From 6 with a possibility of extension to up to 12 months.

Your profile

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a master’s programme in a relevant domain (Data Science, Business Administration with a focus on Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Informatics, Aviation Management or equivalent);
  • Comprehensive understanding of Business Processes and expertise in capturing business requirements
  • Proficiency or strong motivation to learn data analysis tools (such as SQL, Python, R, Groovy) and reporting techniques for insightful data interpretation;
  • Good communication skills for analysing and addressing challenges in diverse business areas, coupled with the motivation to conduct effective training sessions;
  • Capability to analyse problems, think critically, and devise strategic solutions;
  • Precision in managing data and understanding complex systems and processes;
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT, business analysts, and senior management;
  • Ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment;
  • Professional conduct in line with the corporate behaviours of the Agency, i.e. result-driven, readiness to change, customer focus, integrity and team-player approach;
  • The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, thorough knowledge of English is required.

Eligibility Criteria

  • You are a national of one of the EUROCONTROL or ECAC Member States;
  • You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree, and you are about to graduate or have recently graduated. If you are a recent graduate, the traineeship should start within 12 months of obtaining your latest degree;
  • You must be at least 18 years of age on the first day of your traineeship;
  • You must be unemployed at the start date of your traineeship at EUROCONTROL;
  • The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For a traineeship, you must have an excellent command of English. A knowledge of French would be an asset.
