Your team

Within the Office of the Director General, the Central Secretariat (SEC) provides support to the deliberative bodies of the Organisation, with a special focus on facilitating the decision-making process. Corporate archiving of the main working papers and related information of the bodies is a task performed within the unit.

Your role

PURPOSE OF THE TRAINEESHIP

The trainee will work closely with the mentor and the archives assistant. They will organise together the paper archives of the Agency, continue the identification of the different parts and start to make inventories of the most relevant archives.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identification of and bringing together of the papers of the main bodies and projects;
  • Describing the different parts;
  • Creation of the inventories of the most relevant archives;
  • Organising the main documentation; creating of catalogue of reports;

DESIRED DURATION

1 year (12 months )

Your profile

  • An education background in library and archival science, political science or public administration;
  • Information management with an interest in history and technology;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • The working languages of the Agency are English and French.  For this particular post, candidates must have an excellent command of English and preferably at least a working knowledge of French.  The knowledge of an additional language would be an advantage.

  • A flat-rate allowance of €900 per month as a contribution towards living expenses will be granted.
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses to take up appointment and leave may be covered by means of a lump sum.
